The Mr. Shop

Problem:

This display was part of a larger project & exhibit organized by THinc of Syracuse. The theme was “COLD Storage” and the Mr. Shop in Armory Square was one of the participants. Their clothing and merchandise obviously needed to remain as the focal point, but dull green walls were the backdrop.

Solution:

Using specialty papers, I created a black and white patchwork-pattern background for the side window displays. This theme was carried through with the front-side displays, yet more layering and a collection of bizarre objects garnered more attention. My high-low approach included showcasing everything from a disco ball to an old lace dress and a beat-up tuba.
