Problem:
The look of the department did not reflect this award-winning program that CCC offers. There was also no way for students and visitors to identify where the department started or ended!
Solution:
Playing off the existing floor colors, and the attractive nursing seal, we chose light and dark shades of rose for the two-tone walls. The nursing seal was superimposed, transferred to vinyl, and installed at the entrance of the Department for identification purposes. Black and white images representing areas of care, coupled with words that reflected the department’s values were carried down the hall, in varying sizes and fonts. Gun metal grey was chosen for the doors and the trim.
For their wall border, covering the separation between the two paint colors, we used an EKG reading, very appropriate to the subject matter! Now, the department is very welcoming and warm. The images and words decoratively reinforce the department’s message. I again worked with Brian Redfield from Image Agent on the vinyl graphics, and the Department Chair and faculty were very involved in the design process, which was wonderful as well.
