Problem:
With Telcomm and Nursing Departments done, the next stop was the Music Department. Again, drab walls and ceiling tiles and no signage delineating which classrooms belonged to the Music Department was confusing for the students.
Solution:
Right around the corner from the department’s entrance was a lounge, outfitted with blue couches and chairs. We took our color cue from there, and chose a similar blue for the bottom portion of wall, and a rich gold reminiscent of a horn instrument, for the top of the two-tone walls. Musical score, for the border in between the two was a natural choice, as was the piano as the central image for the identity wall graphic. I once again worked with Brian Redfield on the vinyl graphics for this department.
