Problem:
The BID finally moved into prime downtown office space, after being located in small, out of the way places. They needed to make the environment vibrant and contemporary to reflect the upswing downtown is experiencing.
Solution:
BID commissioned local artist Tom Hussey to paint a series of downtown landscapes, which had not been displayed to date. These paintings served as the visual centerpieces on the two side walls of the main office, and the accent wall popped with the BID’s new logo and purple accent color. The border with dining, shopping, entertainment highlights downtown’s strengths and sets the tone for the office. I worked with Brian Redfield for the graphics piece of this project. Adhering vinyl wall pops to the front of the desk added dimension, and the polka dot lady bug chairs make it welcoming and current. I backed an old screen with wallpaper and wrapping paper to carry through the colors and patterns. Two chairs that were in the basement got recovered to match the polka dot chairs.
